Changes...

So much is changing, can you believe that just 9 days ago it was 80 degrees and now it's not even getting to 65... I love the change of weather, the leaves changing, all of the colors changing. Mick loves living here because we have a wood stove and he gets to use his new chainsaw I bought him for father's day/birthday to cut up wood. I love the smell of a wood burning stove!

Last week Clay had hunters Ed, and had his gun shoot Friday. He passed with flying colors. Sat both Mick and I had to work, so the kids went to my folk's house. Sis and my mom went to see my grandma at the hospital, while Clay and my dad went bird hunting outside of Horsehoe Bend. Clay shot 2 or 3 quail, but then decided that he and Canyon would have a little fun and roll down a hill and he lost them out of the back of his hunting vest. Oh well, Duck/Goose opens this Sat and he, Mick,Tessa and a few other guys are going.. I love the fact that Mick & Clay have such a close bond. You rarely ever see Mick w/out Clay right there wanting to be included in everything that Mick is doing. Sometimes they act more like brother's than father/son.
Tessa is such a different dog, it's like night and day. She heals right at your leg, when you stop she stops and sits, she's retrieveing like crazy. I am so happy for Mick that she is going to do really well this year. Here's a few pictures from practicing this week:

She is such a pretty girl! We are so glad that we have had the time to spend with her to ensure she continues to behave properly. I would just hate to have a dog that doesn't get enough attention or the proper training.

Not much else has really been going on. I am finally riding the horses, it's taken a lot of ground work. It's hard to just jump right on them when they haven't been riden for a while. The kids are anxious to ride and I think tomorrow afternoon they will get to do that. The pigs are growing like crazy, and we seem to have a little annoying friend that comes around at dusk. It's a fox, this fox has no fear, the dogs hate it and try to jump through the fence to get at it, so we make sure they are in the house by then. It doesn't bother the horses or the pigs, so for now we'll let it be until it does otherwise.
I am loving my job, and it is so beneficial when you have animals to work at a Vet Clinic. Tomorrow I am having trainging in the Surgery room and I am very excited. I get to help assist on a surgery that Sadie had done last Sept. So it will be interesting to see just what she had to go through.

Soon engough I will be a hunting widow while he's off Elk, Deer and Duck hunting, we really need that Elk meat, I can't belive that we ate all the meat this last year. I guess that's what happens when you actually stay home and cook, huh? I'd rather have home cooked, or I should say "Mick cooked" food over dining out any day!!
